Job Description

Support a fifth-grade student exhibiting challenging behaviors as a dedicated Personal Care Assistant (PCA) in an elementary school setting for the 2025-2026 school year. This contract role focuses on providing 1:1 behavioral support rather than personal care tasks, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment for the student.

Location: Lancaster, PA
Duration: August 25, 2025 June 8, 2026
Hours: 31.25 hours per week, Monday through Friday

Responsibilities include:

• Providing consistent behavioral support for a male student with aggressive tendencies toward furniture, materials, and staff
• Implementing behavioral strategies to de-escalate potential incidents and promote positive interactions
• Collaborating closely with the students support team, including teachers, behavior specialists, and family members
• Maintaining a calm, patient, and supportive presence throughout the school day

Preferred qualifications and experience:

• Previous experience as a paraprofessional or behavior specialist, preferably in an educational setting
• Strong skills in behavior management and de-escalation techniques
• Comfort and confidence working 1:1 with students exhibiting aggressive behaviors
• Male candidates preferred per parent request to meet student needs and ensure the best support environment
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff and participate in ongoing communication regarding student progress
