Job Description

A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA-2) is needed for a full-time, 1:1 care contract position supporting a student with medical needs in an elementary school setting during the 20252026 school year in Newton, NC. This role provides vital health assistance throughout the school day, ensuring the students safety and comfort within the classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver one-on-one support to a student with medically complex needs
• Monitor and document oxygen saturation levels regularly
• Perform tube feedings according to the students individualized care plan
• Coordinate care with the on-site school nurse, who manages oxygen administration as needed
• Maintain a calm, reassuring presence to support the students well-being
• Collaborate effectively with educational staff and healthcare team members

Qualifications:

• Active CNA-2 certification required
• Experience with tube feeding and oxygen monitoring highly preferred
• Previous school-based experience is advantageous but not mandatory
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team
• Comfortable working in a classroom alongside teachers and other school personnel
