The Concrete Finisher works on the commercial construction concrete crew to prepare and set concrete forms. The Concrete Finisher is responsible for forming, smoothing, and finishing all aspects of building and site concrete; including floors, sidewalks, roadways, steps & curbs, and pavement. This position is expected to work within a 90-mile radius of the city of Pittsburgh, and will be an employee of the Pittsburgh, PA office location.

Well, great news! We are looking to add a Concrete Finisher to our growing team!

What you'll do:

  • Prepare foundations of structures for pour.
  • Verify elevations, set edge forms, review formwork for line and grade.
  • Construct beams, slab on grade, columns, and panels for pour.
  • Mold, shape or form wood, metal, composite, or plastic forms to pour concrete.
  • Finish surfaces by floating, troweling, and grooving. Apply curing compound and saw cutting as required.
  • Trowel to create final texture of concrete both by hand and powered machine in a professional best practice's manner.
  • Checks work for quality and chip, scrape, and grind high spots, ridges, and rough projections to finish concrete, using pneumatic chisels, power grinders, or hand tools.
  • Works to time and perform work considering how weather conditions affect the curing of the concrete throughout the entire process.
  • Responsible for production quantities of approximately 900-1100 square feet. of flat work finishing per pour.
  • Maintain production quantities outlined by the project schedule.
  • Follows and performs proper clean-up procedures.
  • Performs demolition work on project site.
  • Operate all types of hand tools equipment as required by the construction activities.
  • Demolish and/or construct interior/exterior partitions for weather protection.
  • Provides input on jobsite logistics, organization, layout, equipment, and manpower utilization.
  • Clean project site and maintain order with all tools and equipment.
  • Adheres to company comprehensive project safety and security programs as defined in the company safety program in accordance with all applicable safety codes and regulations.
  • Meet with the Safety Director and complete mandatory safety training prior to start of employment.
  • Additional tasks as necessary and/or assigned.

Your success story:

Completion of apprentice/vocational program or an equivalent combination of training/education or a minimum of 3 years of field experience in the concrete finishing trade.
