Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate, patient-centered Dental Assistant, Coronal Polisher and a  Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) to join our pediatric dental practice. In these roles, you will provide preventative dental care and oral hygiene education to children and adolescents , including those with special needs . The ideal candidate is skilled in working with young patients in a gentle, reassuring manner and has experience adapting care for children with sensory or developmental differences.

Key Responsibilities:

• As and RDH: Perform routine dental hygiene procedures, including prophylaxis, scaling, fluoride application, and sealant placement .

• Take and evaluate digital radiographs as prescribed by the dentist.

• Educate children and caregivers on proper oral hygiene techniques and nutrition.

• Build trust and rapport with young patients, using behavior guidance techniques appropriate for various developmental levels.

• Provide gentle, accommodating care for patients with special healthcare needs (SHCN).

• Maintain accurate patient records and charting in compliance with HIPAA and state regulations.

• Assist with sterilization and infection control procedures per OSHA guidelines.

• Collaborate with dentists, assistants, and front office staff to ensure efficient patient flow and a supportive environment for families.

Job Requirements:

Education and Licensure for RDH Position:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene from a CODA accredited program.

• Active state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH).

• Current certification in CPR/BLS.

Education and Licensure for Coronal polishing Position:

• Highschool Diploma or GED equivalent 
• Radiology license 
• RDA certificate 
• Coronal polishing license 
• BLS certification

Education and Licensure for Dental Assistant Position:

• Highschool Diploma or GED equivalent 
• Radiology license (if you do not have this license our office will provide you details to getting one and reimburse) 
• BLS certification

Experience:

• RDA and RDH grads are welcome!

• Experience working with pediatric patients and/or patients with special needs is preferred but not required.

Skills and Abilities:

• Warm, calming demeanor with communication skills tailored to young patients and their caregivers.

• Ability to adapt treatment approaches based on age, developmental level, or behavioral challenges.

• Familiarity with sensory sensitivities and behavioral management techniques.

• Proficient in dental software and digital charting (e.g., Dentrix, DEXIS, Dental Intelligence).

• Knowledge of OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control standards.

Work Schedule:

• Full-time or part-time available.

• We have patients Monday-Thursday. Closed Friday-Sunday Daily schedule for Tuesday-Thursday: 7:30AM-5:00PM with an hour lunch break at 12:00Pm-1:00PM. Patients arrive at 8AM. Mondays are 7:30AM-2:00PM. 

• Cleaning appointments are typically 20 minutes long per child.

• Accommodations made to support longer appointment times for special needs patients.

• Not required to clock out if multiple patients cancel!
