What You'll Do: Learn driving rules, safety, and how to operate garbage trucks through hands-on and classroom training; Ride along with experienced drivers and see what the job is all about; Assist with pre-trip inspections, vehicle upkeep, loading/unloading; Practice key skills like backing up, turning, and safe driving techniques; Work through training modules and prep for the CDL test; Keep track of your training progress; Follow company policies and safety rules; Communicate with trainers and your team. What You Need to Get Started: CDL permit required; Clean driving record; Ability to pass DOT physical exam and drug/alcohol screenings; Able to lift and move heavy items as needed; Flexible schedule – including weekends/holidays when needed; Team player who listens and follows instructions; Must be 21 years old or older; Must earn your CDL within 90 days of hire.
