The Human Resource (HR) Generalist is responsible for supporting the HR team in activities related to benefits, talent acquisition, employee relations/engagement, onboarding and off-boarding process for new hires, promotions, and transfers. The HR Generalist should be able to provide best-in-class service to TRG members and bring a proactive approach to the role. The HR Generalist must have basic knowledge of federal, state employment laws, and compliance requirements. We are currently seeking an HR Generalist in our Lakeland facility.
Essential Functions: - Assist in developing and implementing human resources objectives and programs, in areas including but not limited to staffing, compensation, performance, retention and members training and development.
- Build long-term, productive, and mutually beneficial relationships with employees, peer and business partners.
- Assists with enrollment of Company benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurance, retirement plans, PTO, and leaves of absence. Communicates benefits information and provides technical assistance to members needing assistance.
- Assists in the Company recruitment effort, job opening postings, and working with hiring managers to understand their hiring needs.
- Facilitates the on-boarding processes for bargaining and non-bargaining personnel. Handles all administrative tasks for on-boarding, new-member orientations, and off-boarding.
- Completing background checks, employment verifications, and i-9 verification tracking for all new hires.
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory training.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Provides guidance and interpretation of personnel policies and procedures to staff, communicating difficult/sensitive information tactfully and escalating as necessary.
- Maintains up to date Human Resources Information Systems records (Dayforce, Benefit Solver) and compiles reports from databases. Maintains member data and personnel records in accordance with policy, state, and federal regulations.
- Responsible for keeping, posting, and updating members birthdays and benchmark anniversaries in various company communication devices.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, and new technologies in all areas of Human Resources. Recommends new processes to meet the developing HR needs of the organization.
- Responsible for day-to-day interpretation of collective bargaining agreement leading to positive union-company relations.
- Participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations as needed.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Education/Experience: - Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field.
- 1-2 years experience in Human Resources.
- A combination of education and experience qualifies.
- Proficient computer skills, including MS Office. Advanced knowledge of HRIS software applications and ability to learn new technical systems when needed.
- Ability to maintain positive relationships with all employees and stakeholders (internal/external) to the organization.
Preferred Skills: - Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or SHRM certification preferred.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality always.
- Strong communication (written & verbal), interpersonal, decision making and problem-solving skills.
- Computer literacy and good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Team-oriented with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently as necessary.
- Can prioritize, manage multiple projects and deadlines, and stay organized with an attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and exercise discretion when working with sensitive or proprietary information.
Work Environment: - The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those employees' encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to a regular office environment with climate control. Occasionally exposed to the warehouse area that is not climate control. The noise level in the warehouse area is usually loud. - The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and perform an extensive amount of work online with a significant amount of data.

- Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Other Information: - This is a full-time position Monday through Friday during normal business hours. Hours outside of normal business hours may be necessary from time to time.
