Connsci is seeking an IT Investigator to join our growing team. This individual may be coming from another IT Investigator role or might have held job titles like: Digital Forensics Investigator, IT Auditor, Risk Assessor, or Security Analyst.

This person will be responsible for investigating and analyzing computer systems, networks, and digital devices for evidence of illegal activity, security breaches, or other types of misconduct. The duties of this role may vary depending on the type of incident being investigate but typical responsibilities include:

  • Conducting investigations: use various tools and techniques to investigate computer systems, networks, and digital devices for evidence of illegal activity, security breaches, or other types of misconduct.
  • Collecting and preserving evidence: collect and preserve digital evidence in a forensically sound manner to ensure that it can be used in legal proceedings.
  • Analyzing evidence: analyze digital evidence to identify relevant information and draw conclusions based on the findings.
  • Documenting findings: document their findings in a clear and concise manner to provide a detailed report that can be used by law enforcement, legal teams, or other interested parties.
  • Providing expert testimony: may be called upon to provide expert testimony in court or other legal proceedings based on their findings.
  • Maintaining technical expertise: stay up to date with the latest technology and tools used in digital forensics investigations to ensure that they are able to effectively analyze and interpret digital evidence.
  • Ensuring compliance: ensure that their investigations comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Collaborating with other professionals: may work with law enforcement officials, legal teams, or other professionals to conduct investigations or share information related to digital forensics.

Location/Travel: This role will be able to work primarily remotely but will require travel to company and government client site locations across Florida and the Washington DC metro region on an as needed basis. Preference will be given to candidates who are local to the DC Metro Region or who reside in Florida.

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience in IT Audit, Security Assessments, Risk Analysis, or IT Investigations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in IT Audit, Security Assessments, Risk Analysis, or IT Investigations
  • Relevant security certifications such as:
    • CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor)
    • GIAC Certified Forensic Examiner (GCFE)
    • GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH)
    • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
    • CompTIA Security+ or CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+)
    • Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) (for cloud environments)
