Polisher and Buffer – Metal Finishing & Fabrication

Location: Anoka, MN

Start your career in metal finishing with a hands-on role that blends craftsmanship, fabrication, and teamwork. As a Polisher and Buffer, you’ll be responsible for smoothing rough edges and polishing metal surfaces using hand grinders to achieve a clean, professional finish. You’ll also be cross-trained in essential fabrication techniques—including metal cutting, brake press operations, spot welding, and buffing—and support other departments like assembly, packaging, and painting.

This is a great opportunity for individuals with mechanical aptitude who enjoy working with their hands and want to grow in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate hand grinders to smooth and polish sheet metal surfaces
• Perform buffing and spot welding tasks with precision
• Cross-train in basic fabrication: metal cutting, brake press operation, and racking for paint
• Assist in assembly, packaging, and painting departments as needed
• Maintain a clean and organized work area while following safety protocols

Skills & Qualifications

Essential Skills:

• Mechanical aptitude from work experience, schooling, or hands-on hobbies
• Proficiency in grinding and finishing sheet metal
• Ability to read tape measures and perform basic math
• Experience with hand and power tools, welding, and fabrication

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum 6 months of manufacturing or shop experience
• Completion of shop classes in welding, automotive, woodworking, or machining
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.84 - $22.09/hr.
