2nd Shift: 3:00PM to 11:30 PM

Summary: The driver is responsible for picking up and delivering goods and materials to Jimmy’s distribution centers, responsible for basic vehicle maintenance, complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes at all times, and responsible for moving trailers and other equipment around the yard and ensuring that they are properly positioned for loading and unloading.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Timely pickup of shuttled orders between Jimmy's owned facilities 
• Pick-ups from vendors and Wholesale stores
• Trailer and yard management.

Requirements & Work Environment:

• Responsible for maintaining a neat and orderly storage lot oriented towards maximizing efficiency in servicing the plant's needs.
• Operate Yard Truck in a safe manner during numerous roll-on/roll-off procedures daily involving loaded and empty containers.
• Drive and operate vehicles in and around the plant and storage lot/staging area.
• Be cognizant of the reality that the operation is a low-mileage severe duty function requiring particular attention to preventive maintenance checks and services, as well as actual scheduled vehicle maintenance.
• Conduct pickup and drop-off of freight to and from 3PL storage facilities and/or between Jimmy’s owned facilities when needed. 
• Must be aware that operations occur on asphalt, concrete, and gravel surfaces in a hostile environment, often contaminated with material subject to embedding in tires.
• Responsible for updating and maintaining daily movement logs and ensuring all trailers in the yard that have products are locked with a padlock. 
• Must function and interact daily with plant personnel and comply with plant safety requirements.
• Will be required to assist inside the warehouse during slow periods of the shift. 
• Communicate using cellular telephone or 2-way radio with dispatch, operations, and plant personnel.
• Security of valuable commodities and the storage area itself is a major area of concern for the Yard Jockey, occasionally requiring guidance from supervisory personnel regarding disposition.
• Must have a current and valid Class A commercial driver’s license and must submit to having periodic motor vehicle reports processed.
• 5 years of driving experience with a Class A commercial driver's license.
• Applicants are required to have a valid DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate before employment.
• Duties and Tasks as assigned by Management.
