Description of Work
This is a temporary position and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position. Note: Permanent and time-limited NC State Government employees must separate from their permanent or time-limited position in order to work in a temporary position. All temporaries are limited to one NC State Government temporary assignment at a time.
Individuals hired into a temporary State job must be fully qualified for the job. OSHR supports the Governor's Job Ready initiative and seeks to expand a temporary's skill set to enhance their qualifications for State government and private sector jobs. This temporary position is located in Raleigh - Wake County.

Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $21.25 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).


This temporary position will be assigned to the Office of State Human Resources. This position is located at 333 Fayetteville St, Raleigh, NC 27601.
The employee will be responsible for assisting the employee relations (ER) staff by responding to agency grievance and discipline questions, reviewing Final Agency Decisions and settlements, reviewing RIF plans, monitoring Investigatory Leave with Pay (ILWP) requests, and developing and conducting ER training as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

• Must have experience and be knowledgeable in employee relations
administration programs.
• Experience in providing analysis, best practices, and theoretical
feedback in employee relations with managers.
• Experience with NC State Government policies and procedures,
including NC University systems.
• Experience with generating and analyzing disciplinary and grievance
reports.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's degree, typically in Human Resources or related field from an appropriately accredited institution and 2 years of experience required; or


High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and 6 years of progressive experience in Human Resources; or equivalent combination or education and experience.
