Job Description

Support an elementary student with extensive behavioral needs as a Paraprofessional/Behavioral Health Assistant in the Napa, CA area. This contract position offers a meaningful opportunity to make a positive impact on a young learner prone to eloping, requiring vigilant and active supervision throughout the school day. The role is approximately 30 hours per week, starting as soon as possible and extending through the end of the current school year.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one support to a younger elementary student with extensive support needs
• Monitor behaviors closely to ensure student safety and promote positive outcomes
• Utilize strong classroom management techniques to maintain a safe, structured environment
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to implement individualized behavior plans
• Maintain accurate records of behavioral incidents and progress

Qualifications and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• CPR and First Aid certification
• Drivers License or reliable transportation to and from work
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening
• Minimum of 2 years recent experience working with children in educational and community settings
• Experience supporting children with Autism and behavioral challenges is strongly preferred

Location and Schedule:

• Elementary school setting near Napa, CA
• Contract position, approximately 30 hours per week
• Position runs through the end of the school year
