Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
12-hour shifts, 36 hours guaranteed per week
Weekend Requirements: Possible
On Call: None
Position Summary:
The L&D RN provides comprehensive care for laboring, postpartum, and nursery patients. The nurse performs assessments, develops and revises care plans, administers medications, implements patient/family education, and ensures safety and quality of care. This role also involves collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, supervising patient care, and maintaining accurate documentation.Key Responsibilities:
Perform head-to-toe assessments and reassessments according to policy.
Assess and manage patient pain, educating patients and families on interventions.
Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care.
Provide age-appropriate care and education across the lifespan.
Administer medications safely, following the five rights.
Provide technical and manual care within scope of practice; seek guidance when needed.
Treat patients and families with respect, addressing psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs.
Maintain a safe environment to prevent errors and adverse events.
Collaborate with other departments to provide interdisciplinary care.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, co-workers, and physicians.
Operate and manage equipment safely.
Maintain annual competencies, including bedside glucose testing.
Requirements:
1 year L&D experience – Required
Postpartum and nursery experience – Required
BSN – Preferred
ACLS (AHA) – Required
BLS (AHA) – Required
NRP – Required
