As a
Utility Locator you will identify, locate, and mark the location of subsurface utilities in order to minimize accidental damage or disruption of service due to construction excavation activities. You are familiar with industry standards, policies, guidelines, and procedures. You will develop new skills, work in a safety-minded environment, and join us in expanding technology for a better community. Responsibilities
In addition, you will:
- Be responsible for locating cables and verification in accordance with blueprints and designated plans.
- Maintain company equipment per service requirements and safety guidelines.
- Complete all necessary paperwork in a timely manner.
- Train and mentor new team members.
- Track time and job completion progress.
- Keep the job site organized and ensure proper restoration at project completion.
- Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
Qualifications
About You:

- You are comfortable working outdoors and in varied conditions.
- You are comfortable working alone, an employee in this class is expected to exercise considerable initiative in moving efficiently through the day's work assignments.
- You have considerable independent judgment, as the accuracy of the locate depends heavily upon how well the readings from the equipment are interpreted.
- You're experienced in underground utility construction.
- You have at least 2+ years' experience in utility location.
- You have knowledge of reading and understanding blueprints, electronic quarter section, and plat maps
- You hold the necessary certifications such as OSHA 10, CPR, Flagging
- You can lift up to 50 lbs. and are comfortable with extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, lifting in awkward positions, standing, twisting, reaching above shoulder level or working in confined spaces
- You're available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if needed.
