Job Description

Our client, a leader in the manufacturing industry, is seeking a Welder to join their team. As a Welder, you will be part of the production department supporting various operational teams. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Welder

Location: Mount Vernon, IL

Pay Range: $18 per hour

What's the Job?

• Safely handle parts and equipment weighing from 0-75 pounds on a daily basis.
• Perform various welding applications including ARC welding, Carbon Arc gouging, and Flame torch burning.
• Remove, repair, fabricate, and replace damaged areas or parts on locomotives and component parts.
• Accurately read and use a tape measure for precise measurements.
• Operate cranes and various tools in the performance of daily duties.

What's Needed?

• Ability to climb up and down locomotives and equipment at least 20-40 times daily.
• Experience in welding and repairing locomotive parts.
• Ability to work with little or no supervision.
• Strong communication skills to maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
• Experience using pneumatic and electrical hand tools.
